"Mommy, look! It's Kaylin when she was in your belly! Look, mommy, Kaylin was in your belly!" explains my exuberant three-year-old as we watch an episode of "A Baby Story." No, it wasn't Kaylin, and even though she was born quite some time ago, somehow, the images of another whale-bellied mom giving birth to her own child brought back to his mind memories of my whale-bellied days, and how Kaylin came afterward.
I must admit that, even though I don't feel that I'm ready for another baby, watching that show can be dangerous. Seeing those adorable, squishy, oh-so-tiny newborns seems to set off some sort of maternal alarm. It was at that moment when I asked, "do you want another baby?"
"Yeah! Are we going to go buy another baby?" (Note: Seth thinks that we went and "bought" Kaylin at the hospital.)
Laughing, "No, we're not going to buy another baby yet."
"We're not going to the store to buy another baby?"
"No, not yet."
"Ok."
Love it! Yeah, those tiny, sweet-smelling things can be down right dangerous!!

ReplyDeleteHow fun that you're starting a blog! I think it'll be fun knowing what you are up to! :) BUYING babies! Yikes... so risky! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments! Yeah, I think I would have a lot more kids if we could just go pick them up at the store. It's the whole pregnancy thing that keeps me in check. ;)
